Overarching objectives in this regard
No one will be disadvantaged by the Project.
No project affected person will be relocated without proper compensation and rehabilitation measures and a place to move (housing).
Water is abundant in the area and there will be enough water for irrigation and domestic uses.
Agricultural production and agro-based livelihoods will not be affected. Rather with application of modern and improved cultivation practices, agriculture will be more productive, more profitable.
Appropriate environmental management measures will be in place and biodiversity will be conserved.
Social Development will be achieved.
Lesson will be learned from mistakes in earlier projects implemented in the country and elsewhere to avoid repetition of similar mistakes.
